We always buy too many peaches at the farmers market or at the farm stands in summer. I’ll either bake something that uses a bunch of them, freeze big chunky quarters, or start incorporating them into our breakfasts like it’s my job. This peaches and cream smoothie is one of my favorite ways to do the vegan breakfast move! Fruity, creamy, refreshing, thick, and no banana. A creamy homemade nut milk makes the base even better if you have five minutes to spare.

The fresh and frozen peach combination is the key move here. I have you freeze a portion of the peaches and keep the other portion at room temperature. The frozen peaches bring the froth and thickening power while the fresh ones bring peak flavor. Using a portion of frozen fruit in all of your smoothies will create a creamier texture every time.
You do not need to peel peaches for smoothies. The blender purees the frozen and fresh versions just fine, and the peels actually help to make the color of the finished smoothie more vibrant. If you cannot stand peach peels on principle (I know some folks do!), feel free to remove them before freezing and blending.
Other summer fruits mix well with peaches here. A handful of raspberries, strawberries, or blueberries would all bring a nice tart contrast.

Vegan Peaches & Cream Smoothie

Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups non-dairy milk
- 2 scoops vanilla protein powder,
- ¼ cup rolled oats
- ¼ cup vegan plain or vanilla yogurt
- 3 tablespoons almond butter
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon hemp seeds
- 2 teaspoons chia seeds
- 1 large peach, chopped and frozen
- 1 large peach, chopped
- 1 soft Medjool date, pitted (omit if you want it less sweet)
- pinch salt
- handful ice
Equipment
- Blender
Notes
- I prefer almond butter in this because I think the flavor is complimentary. Cashew is also nice! If you are allergic to nuts, I would substitute roasted sunflower seed butter.
- I know it’s fussy to have one frozen peach and one not frozen! But I always aim to give you the best, and this combination really is the pinnacle of peach smoothie enjoyment :)
- In my photos, I used a bit of vegan yogurt and peach compote that I had on hand to create some visual contrast on the glass. The compote is just peeled and diced peaches cooked down over medium heat with cinnamon and a bit of maple syrup until jammy. Then I quickly whizz it in my food processor!
- When I say large peach, I mean large! Mine were the size of softballs.
Instructions
- In an upright blender, combine the non-dairy milk, vanilla protein powder, oats, vegan yogurt, almond butter, vanilla extract, lemon juice, hemp seeds, chia, frozen peach, non-frozen peach, date, and ice. Blend on high until completely smooth and creamy. Pour the smoothie into two glasses and enjoy!
The link to the protein powder doesn’t go anywhere. Could you tell me what kind you use. It’s hard to find a vegan one near me that isn’t full of chemicals. Thank you
Hi Nancy,
I’ve just updated the links, so sorry about that! I use Sprout Living brand.

This looks so good! What a great combination of flavors!
Another incredible recipe! I rarely follow recipes for smoothies but you always nail the flavours so had to try it. It was SO good I couldn’t stop drinking it. I ended up using all frozen peaches as I had frozen some a few days ago and didn’t have any freshman hand. Can’t wait to make it again tomorrow :)
So yummy and summery! I really appreciate your description of what size peach! Thanks!
So glad you enjoyed it, Tracy! :)

I love how you add oats to smoothies! I’ve been looking for a way to make them thick and satisfying and that seems to be the missing link. This looks so good. I can’t wait to try it.
Oats really do help thicken any smoothie! I find it also makes them much more satisfying. Another fun trick is to freeze “ice cubes” of cooked plain oatmeal for your smoothies. Makes them so frothy and hearty!
